As CEO of Acurion, Inc., Rick leads a seasoned and diverse leadership team, guiding the company through key regulatory milestones and into commercial growth. A proven executive, Rick brings a strong track record of scaling both nonprofit and for-profit organizations.

Prior to Acurion, Rick was a Partner at First Capital Accelerator, where he focused on fundraising, evaluating investment opportunities, and supporting the growth of early-stage portfolio companies. From 2010 to 2024, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer at Biocom California. In this role, he was instrumental in driving statewide expansion, business development, and strategic partnerships, while overseeing the Biocom Purchasing Group. He also established Biocom’s presence in Los Angeles and the Bay Area and served as the organization’s first Executive Director in San Diego. In his various roles at Biocom he has helped hundreds of small and mid-sized life science companies advance their missions. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy from New England College and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Delaware. He has also served on numerous community and industry boards.
